We’re now finding that it’s becoming increasingly more popular to extend your home rather than moving. Many more people remove the expense and stress of moving home by making the decision to improve and adapt instead.

This 3 bedroom family home is based in the sought after village on the fringe of west Stanway. The client approached us with a clear sense of what they wanted for their home.

Seeking to gain extra kitchen space, which will enable them to entertain guests and provide more space to live in. They specified a lot of the fundamentals before commissioning the design work, which allowed a fluid process between us. The clients were extremely receptive to our ideas and allowed us to take the lead with the designs, which is what we love to do.

We designed the extension to the rear of the property, stretching out 17 square metres into the garden. This provided us with roughly 38 square metres to work with including the existing kitchen space.

The Final Designs

Our designs included 3 Velux Roof-lights to allow natural light to flow into the property. We also introduced eye catching Anthracite Grey, 3 leaf Bi-fold Door. The monopitched roof on the exterior of the property provides a strong feature to compliment the newly constructed extension. Overall this stunning Single Storey Rear Extension has provided the family a naturally light and airy space; the light flows in from the Velux Roof-lights and the outside flows in through the Bi-folding Door. The harmony throughout the new living space creates that all-important feeling of togetherness for the family, whilst being perfect for those summer evenings soon to be heading our way.
